COBIS, Ole Maaløes vej 3, 2200 København N, Denmark
Description

This is the 4th workshop in the series to exchange information on progress, thoughts and ideas between all partners involved in the development of the ESS experiment control system.

    • Hands-on Sessions
      • 1
        Welcome
Speakers: Jonathan Taylor (European Spallation Source ERIC), Michael Wedel (European Spallation Source ERIC)
      • 2
        Plankton Device Implementation Howto
Speaker: Michael Wedel (European Spallation Source ERIC)
      • 10:25
        Coffee
      • 3
Approaches to Visualising and Inspecting Voxel Data
        Speaker: Mr Lamar Moore (STFC/ISIS)
        Slides

Minutes from the Voxel Data session:

        • Morten Christensen to provide more cncs data for evaluating voxel geometry
        • Morten highlighted the need for more collaboration among groups In-Kind, Detector group, DMSC etc and he will drive this effort.
        • Lamar to come up with scheme for loading entire CNCS geometry with data into Paraview for evaluation.
        • Geometries must contain full single-pixel resolution for multigrid detector based instruments initially. Binning, sub-sampling and/or flattening of the instrument geometry will be discussed later on.

Speaker: Michael Wedel (European Spallation Source ERIC)

        Decisions:

        • Further explore use of simulation framework to create simple CA interfaces for devices (together with Mark K.)
        • Requires proper implementation of socket device starting from prototype (asynchat, Michael H.)

        Decisions:

        • Use graylog for now
        • Jonas to prepare vagrant file, put into repository, use in VM for local testing
        • One instance deployed at ESSIIP for "real world test"
